$200 grants for projects that bring people together in New Haven

We believe that strong communities are built one neighbor at a time. Our micro-grants program empowers New Haven residents to create simple, meaningful opportunities for neighbors to meet, connect, and build lasting relationships.

how it works

Meet these simple requirements to bring your neighborhood event to life:

  • Organized by New Haven Resident: Applicant must be a New Haven resident and the event that takes place in New Haven.

  • Free & Open to the Public: The event must be free of charge and open to the public. No tickets, fees, or restricted access.

  • Ideally, Recurring: This grant is meant to be a spark to ignite regular neighborhood activities like Sunday pickup basketball games.

  • Storytelling: Applicant will provide a simple report that provides (1) Answers to 3-4 questions about your experience; (2) The # of neighbors who came; (3) 2-3 pictures of the event; and (4) A short story or quote from the gathering.

For this round, Know Your Neighbors is funded in part by With Neighbors — which will receive your report, may like to feature your story, and will be the administer of the funds.

The Know Your Neighbors Fund has supported all kinds of projects including. Learn more about our funded projects.
