Youth civic Fellows
Get involved!Young people building civic life at New Haven’s largest high school.
Connecticut’s young people are volunteering less than they used to. The share of youth involved in community service has fallen from 70% to 43% (2026 Kids Count Report, Annie E. Casey Foundation and CT Voices for Children).
In partnership with Wilbur Cross High School, Civic Works is working with six paid Youth Civic Fellows to design a schoolwide civic engagement program. The Fellows will find out what keeps their classmates from getting involved, connect with local nonprofits and community groups, and build a program that lasts beyond their own time at Cross.
